What Is Greyston Bakery’s Strategy for Business Gifts?
When asked to best describe what makes a good business gift, Mindy Srebnik, Fulfillment Coordinator at Yonkers, N.Y.-based Greyston Bakery, says the key to an effective business gifts strategy is to offer gifts that are appropriate for more than just one occasion. “We suggest business gifts for work, anniversaries, birthdays, and holidays,” she explains. “For a number of years, our clients have been ordering from us for their employee’s birthdays, and also to welcome new employees and to celebrate anniversary dates for employees who have been with their companies for a number of years.” Most Greyston Bakery business gifts and customized gift sets come in 8, 12 or 18-piece tins.

The brownies and blondies that are made at Greyston Bakery have become such popular business gifts, Srebnik notes, that most companies “no longer place their orders one at a time, some place orders monthly and many do it yearly. They like that they can order anything that is on our website (greyston.org), and can include a gift message and their company logo with their orders.”

What Feedback Has Greyston Bakery Received On Its Business Gifts?
“Our clients always tell us that whomever they give the brownies to say they really loved the brownies,” Srebnik notes. “We hear, too, that people like them because of Greyston’s Open Hiring policy.”
What Do You See As The Future Of Greyston Bakery Business Gifts?
“It was kind of surprising, but during the Covid year sales of our business gifts went through the roof,” Srebnik said. “It turns out sending our brownies out as business gifts was a good way of reaching all employees. With more and more employees working remotely, we see our gifts being used by businesses as a ‘we appreciate you’ message from the office or the CEO.”
Business leaders can’t go wrong, Srebnik notes, when sending brownies as a business gift. “Who doesn’t like getting an unexpected present?” she asks rhetorically. “It’s such a small investment to show you care, but it goes a long way to saying to your employees, ‘You are appreciated.”
