YONKERS, N.Y. – Greyston Foundation has received a Generation Foundation grant of $1.2 million to support the Greyston Employment Opportunity Center (GEOC). Funding will support GEOC’s employee research, academic and NGO (Non-Government Organization) engagements, and regional expansion. This is the second major grant the Generation Foundation has awarded Greyston in the past four years.
“With our continued partnership we can now delve deeper into how Open Hiring® is actually the catalyst for taking a more holistic approach to a human capital and talent management strategy,” Greyston President and Chief Executive Officer Joe Kenner said. “From here we can better understand the broader needs of an organization (employer and employee alike) and other stakeholders.”
Founded in 1982, Greyston for nearly four decades has worked to help individuals facing barriers to employment secure a job, improve their lives, and become self-sufficient. Greyston offers innovative training, development, and wraparound social services, and the opportunity for individuals to unlock their full potential. Greyston makes an even greater impact by helping to educate individuals through its Workforce Development and Training programs. Director of the Generation Foundation, Grace Eddy, commented: “Over the past three years, Greyston has demonstrated that open and inclusive hiring models are beneficial to businesses, individuals and society. We are delighted to continue to renew our support for Greyston in tackling the next challenge: helping businesses to adopt these practices at scale and making inclusive hiring the norm.”
