Decadent dessert for your thanksgiving table

Greyston Bakery

November has arrived, fall is in full swing, and Thanksgiving’s just around the corner. Looking for a new dessert for your holiday table? Try our bakery’s Snickerdoodle Apple Cheesecake Tart! Featuring Greyston’s decadent, buttery, and spicy Snickerdoodle Blondie, it’s perfect for celebrations and every day.

Here’s the recipe:

Tart Dough:

  • 4 Greyston Snickerdoodle Blondies
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 cup all-purpose flour

Crumble the Snickerdoodle Blondies into a bowl. Add brown sugar, melted butter, and all-purpose flour, and mix by hand until the dough comes together. Using two pieces of parchment paper, roll out dough until it is approximately 1/4-inch thick. Place dough over tart ring, and slowly work it in by hand until cleanly pressed against the bottom and sides. Trim excess dough with a paring knife. Freeze for one hour.

Cheesecake:

  • 12 oz. cream cheese
  • 3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg

Let the cream cheese sit out at room temperature for one hour. Set oven to 300F. In a mixing bowl, mix cream cheese and sugar on medium speed until smooth and lump-free. Add vanilla extract and egg until fully incorporated. Pour mixture into tart pan and bake for 20 – 25 minutes until fully set. Turn off oven and allow cheesecake to cool in the oven. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator overnight.

Apple Topping:

  • 5 – 6 medium apples, peeled, cored and sliced.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Set oven to 300F. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Place each individual apple slice on a parchment paper-lined sheet pan and bake for 5 minutes. Flip each apple slice and bake for an additional 3 minutes. Allow the apples to cool completely. Fan apples on top of the cheesecake, alternating direction after each completed ring. Refrigerate at least one hour before serving.
