In August of 2021, we proudly announced that Bonduelle was working with our Rochester Hub to introduce inclusive hiring to one of its frozen food packaging plants in Brockport.
Just half a year later we’re excited and proud to see Bonduelle expand the use of the policy in another facility in Florence, NJ.
“The inclusive hiring model directly supports the Bonduelle mission to make a positive impact on people and the planet,” says Andrea G. Montagna, Chief Executive Officer. “This initiative will open the doors to new talent and perspectives that will ultimately improve the collective efforts of the company.”
Greyston President and CEO, Joseph Kenner says “It is a great thing to see the success of Open Hiring with our partners. Congratulations to Bonduelle who piloted Open Hiring in their Rochester, NY facility. Now they are expanding to their Florence, NJ location. Excellent news!”
Bonduelle’s Inclusive Hiring Strategy
The new expansion launched with an on-site hiring event on March 28. The inclusive employment strategy moves away from traditional hiring and employee screening processes to give anyone seeking meaningful employment the opportunity and support they need to flourish at Bonduelle, including those who experience life challenges, such as homelessness, past drug dependency, or justice-involved background.
Exemplary Replication of Greyston Bakery
Just like we do at Greyston Bakery – candidates can now apply to positions at Bonduelle without resumes, interviews, background checks, or drug screens. Bonduelle will also offer work/life services including access to social workers and community services, individual case management, and one-on-one coaching.
“We consider this approach a win-win because it expands our recruiting pipeline and, most importantly, can have a positive impact on people’s lives by reducing barriers to employment,” adds Chief Human Resources Officer Katie Lopez. “It also has enabled us to focus our efforts on training and support to ensure all Associates can succeed.”
Future Focus
Bonduelle has plans to launch inclusive hiring programs in more facilities later in 2022.
