Steven Brown, President & CEO of Greyston Foundation
Steven had been a member of Greyston’s Board of Directors since 1998 before becoming President & CEO in 2004. Steven has a background in housing, community development, foundation leadership, fundraising and organizational management. Immediately prior to joining Greyston’s staff, Steven served as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the New York City Housing Partnership, where from 1983 to 1998 he served as Director and then Vice President of Housing and Retail programs. From 1998 until early 2004, he was President of the Jackie Robinson Foundation, a national foundation providing scholarships, mentoring, and career and academic support to promising minority college students. A graduate of Harvard University and resident of White Plains, Steven brings extensive leadership skills and experience to Greyston.
D. Alexandra Dyer, Chief Financial Officer
Alexandra Dyer brings over 25 years of leadership experience, particularly related to the not-for-profit sector and to organizations, which present a for-profit/not-for-profit hybrid. Ms. Dyer has focused on developing innovative and effective financial and management programs, devised organizational strategy, and has managed and responded to diverse constituencies. Ms. Dyer’s breadth of business experience and executive leadership include serving as Chief Financial Officer for Discover General Contracting Corp. and its related companies (total budget responsibility $50 million), Chief Financial Officer for the innovative South Bronx 2000 Local Development Corporation and its for-profit environmental subsidiaries, and as Executive Director for the Rockaway Development and Revitalization Corporation. Ms. Dyer received her B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University, her Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary, and her MBA from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. She completed the Certificate course from The Institute for Not-for-Profit Management of the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
Jonathan Olin Greengrass, Vice President of Development and Public Relations
A graduate of Tufts University, Jonathan's experience includes 20 years of fund raising, non profit, consulting and business experience. He has held senior management positions at The Randall's Island Sport Foundation, Learning Leaders, and World Hunger Year. His background includes the founding of Made From Scratch, a gourmet food company, and NewTel, a social enterprise that combined a welfare-to-work training program with an onsite teleservices call center. At Greyston, Jonathan provides strategic management for private and government funding efforts, and public relations outreach. He resides in Dobbs Ferry with his wife and two children.
William Mistretta, Greyston Bakery President & CEO
Bill brings over 20 years of senior experience in the baking and food service industry to the Greyston Bakery. He has worked at companies including Pepsico, George Weston, Interstate Bakeries, and Manischewitz. He has a long history of success and achievement with both an operations and a sales background.
Matthew Shelley, Senior Vice President of Health & Human Services
Matt joined Greyston in 2003. He oversees Greyston’s entire portfolio of health and human services programs. Prior to joining Greyston, Matt worked for Medco Health Solutions (a division of Merck and Co.) and Arthur Andersen where he developed and led performance improvement initiatives in the healthcare, utility and financial services industries. Matt holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from The Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Shelley Weintraub, Vice President of Real Estate
Shelley manages 200 units of affordable housing and is currently developing a new large-scale affordable housing building in Southwest Yonkers. Prior to working at Greyston, Shelley was the director of a real estate management company responsible for over 3,000 units of housing for low-income and formerly homeless families and senior citizens. Shelley is a graduate of Queens College, where she was an art major focusing on sculpture and etching. She is a long-time Yonkers resident and is active in her local community.
